Index

Basics

With Mindly you can organize your thoughts in a hierarchical multi-level structure! Each item can contain other items and so on.

Document List (initial view):

Element view:

Note that when a central element has more than 6 sub-items it is visualized on bottom right corner. However, it is still possible to rotate sub-items by moving your finger around the central element.

Mind Map:

Note that Mind Map is interactive. If you tap on an item it will be opened and viewed in element view.

iCloud

iCloud offers the following benefits:

You can start to use iCloud at any time. When you start using iCloud, your local documents will be moved to iCloud. If you later switch back to use local storage, the documents will remain in the cloud and are not visible in the app.

Copy/Paste and Delete

To copy/move items you can simply drag items around to desired location. However, what if you need to copy/move to some destination not currently visible on the screen?

Mindly has a visual 'clipboard' where you can store momentarily the item you want to copy or move. It appears on the top-right corner of the screen and accepts one item at a time. Just drag an item there and find the place in hierarchy where you want to copy/move the item. Then, drag the item to the destination from the 'clipboard'.

To empty the 'clipboard' you can just drag its contents to the 'black hole'. Emptying the 'clipboard' does not delete the original item! In fact, we wont even ask your confirmation in this case.

Deleting is pretty simple. You just start dragging an item (by using long press on it) and move it to the 'black hole' in the bottom-right corner. You will be asked a confirmation before actual delete happens.

Passcode

Optionally, you can set a 4-digit passcode to control access to Mindly. Passcode is requested each time you start Mindly. If you switch to another application and come back after a minute, Mindly will ask passcode again.

Please note that Mindly does not encrypt data on disk - thus we recommend to store your passwords, credit card numbers etc. elsewhere.

Print & Share

If you have a printer that supports AirPrint, you can print directly from your device. Alternatively, you can simply email a PDF document from the application.

While PDF is suited for printing the document contents, other formats allow to share the Mindly document for further processing. The following list illustrates what is contained in these formats:

If you need to edit the Mindly document contents in other applications we suggest to look first at OPML format. In addition, many applications allow to copy/paste a document structure via tab-delimited text.
